Engineer remanded in prison custody for raping hotel attendant

The Half Assini district magistrate’s court on Thursday remanded an engineer of an Accra company undertaking a borehole project in the Jomoro District in prison custody for one month for raping a hotel attendant at Tikobo Number 1.

The plea of Daniel Tetteh from Teshie in Accra was not taken and was ordered to re-appear on January 5, 2012.

Chief Inspector Paul Anaman told the court that the accused person, who was lodging in a hotel at Tikobo Number One, raped the 20-year-old attendant when she went  to sweep the room.

Tetteh entered the room, locked the door, held the girl’s mouth with his hand and raped her.

The Prosecution said the attendant reported her ordeal to the Hotel Manager who informed the Half Assini Police.
