Media Foundation for West Africa Vice Chairperson elected into IFEX Governing Council

The Vice Board Chairperson of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Mr. Edetaen Ojo has been elected to the International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX) Council.

Mr. Ojo who was elected as the convener two years ago, is to run IFEX, the largest network of freedom of expression organizations in the world, for the next two years.

“More than 500 journalists, freedom of expression activists and writers from
80 member organisations operating in over 50 countries, majority of which are in the developing world, made the decision at the ongoing IFEX General Meeting in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon”, a statement issued by MFWA and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com has said.

Mr. Ojo is also the Executive Director of Media Rights Agenda of Lagos, Nigeria, one of MFWA partner organizations in Africa, said the statement.
