Trade and Investment delegation from Belarus visits Ghana

A 20-member Belarusian trade and investment delegation led by the Senior Minister and Special assistant to the Belarusian President, General Viktor Sheimani, is paying a three-day visit to Ghana from May 10-12 to explore avenues for trade and investment promotion.

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said the areas of interest included pipe laying for the oil and gas industry, agriculture and agro-processing, construction, marine and airports construction and rehabilitation, railways, inland waterways, affordable villages for farmers, mining, power generation and gold refinery.

Bilateral talks opened in Accra Wednesday on development issues and business opportunities.

The Belarusian business delegation would also hold discussions with their Ghanaian counterparts and officials from the Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Association of Ghana Industries and related institutions and agencies.

General Viktor Sheimani will pay a courtesy call on President John Evans Atta Mills on Thursday and deliver a special message from the Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenka to his Ghanaian counterpart.
