Yale Alumni Service Corps (YASC), an association from the U.S.,  is assisting the people of Yamoransa to build an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) centre in the town to help school children of the community to gain knowledge in ICT.

Mr. Kwame Otchere, the Director of the American Field Service (AFS), said the YASC last year offered to assist the town to get an ICT centre after a visit to the town.

The project is being jointly funded by the YASC and the people of the town.

At a durbar organized by the people of Yamoransa in honor of the YASC to show their appreciation, Mr. Otchere said it decided to assist Yamoransa due to the strong relationship it had with the people of the town.

The durbar was attended by chiefs, staff of the Department of Population and Health of the University of Cape Coast, the Assembly member of Yamoransa Electoral Area, Mrs. Comfort Garbrah as well as the staff and volunteers of AFS, Ghana.

He said the YASC, apart from the ICT centre, had also engaged in services to the community including free outreach clinics, advice on how to run businesses and teaching and mentoring of senior high school graduates

Nana Kwesi Brebo III of the Nkusukum Traditional Council appealed to the people to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court, adding that the interest of Ghana must be put first.

He appealed to the youth especially the young men to make good use of the ICT centre when it is completed.
