Police arrests leader of ‘Kumodzi’ gang involved in Nima violence

Ibrahim Hussain alias “Kumodzi”, leader of the “Kumodzi gang” in the Nima violent clash has been arrested and detained to assist investigation.

A news brief from the Police said meanwhile, the Police continued to pursue Bombor and others.

It said details would be provided in due course.

Two rival groups; “Kumordzi” and “Bombor” engaged in a violent clash on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, injuring several people.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwesi Ofori, Director-General, Public Affairs, Ghana Police Service, the violent clash was led by one Kumodzi, alias “Ibrahim Hussein” and Bombor, alias “Ali Awudu”, leaders of the groups.

The police arrested nine suspects on the day of the violence whilst the gang leaders who fostered the incident went into hiding.

The Police, a few days after the incident, placed a bounty of GHC20,000.00 on the heads of the gang leaders and said it would give that amount to anyone who provided useful information leading to their arrest.
