GGBL introduces Black and White Scotch whisky to the Ghanaian market

Management of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has launched the Black and White Scotch whisky, a new addition to their range of spirit products on the Ghanaian market.

The new product is being introduced with the aim of serving the middle-class a high-quality brand of whisky at a moderate price – contrary to the highly-priced whiskies on the market for the upper-class and the cheap ones for the lower-class.

Mr Koffi Allaglo, Marketing Manager-Innovation and Planning, GGBL, speaking at the launch, said a market research conducted showed a gap between two categories of whisky in the country, the higher priced and lower-priced ones; hence, the product would fill the gap at the centre to satisfy all types of consumers.

“At GGBL, the consumer is at the centre of everything we do; we have always been informed by the need to satisfy different consumer taste profiles that evolve and change over time, and the launch of the Black and White Whisky today highlights the importance of our consumer,” he said.

The Marketing Manager-Innovation and Planning said management would continue to innovate with new products that would exceed consumer expectations.

He said newly-introduced Scotch Whisky is packaged in two sizes of 75cl and 20cl and it is suitable for friends and families having their celebrations in both smaller and larger groups.

Mr Tweneboah-Koduah, Brands Manager, GGBL, said the product was a high quality Scotch Whisky with a perfectly smooth taste that was not burning as the ones on the market, but tastes sweet and could be enjoyed unmixed or mixed.

“This Black and White Whisky is more than just your typical whisky, it is a brand that is positioned to redefine experience in the spirit market as it is masterfully blended as an accessible whisky that will recruit more consumers into the whisky category,” he said.

He said Black and White Whisky is a blended Scotch whisky, which was originally produced by the London-based James Buchanan & Company Limited.
