Communities around Kasoa call for drainage system

Residents in Kasoa and surrounding communities have called on government to provide good roads and drainage systems to prevent flooding in the major raining season.

Residents say for years they had complained to authorities of the serious challenges they faced during the rainy seasons because of the poor drainage system, leading to flooding and destruction of property.

Mr Francis Kpogah, a Taxi Driver, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday, said the poor drainage in the communities had been the cause of the bad roads and this needed to be addressed immediately to curb the plight of residents and drivers.

Madam Nancy Ofosu, a resident, appealed to the government for the urgent provision of the drains to prevent any possible event as the rainy season had just started.

She said because of the bad nature of the roads during the raining season, the drivers charged exorbitant fares as they complained of their vehicle being damaged.

Madam Ofosu, therefore, appealed to the government and appropriate authorities to come to their aid and to help solve the situation.
