Curfew hours reviewed in Kpatinga and its environs

The government through the Ministry of the Interior has reviewed the curfew hours imposed on Kpatinga from 0000hours to 0400hours, which will be effective from Friday.

A statement issued signed by Mr Ambrose Dery, the Minister of the Interior and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday said the curfew was renewed on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.

The government expressed appreciation to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and people of the Kpatinga for their efforts in ensuring peace in the area.

The statement urged them to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them, urging them to use non-violence means to channel their energies ensuring peaceful co-existence.

The statement reiterated the ban on all persons in the two towns and their environs from carrying arms, ammunitions or any offensive weapons

“Any persons found in possession of the prohibited items will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement noted.
