CPP tasks Regional Executives to evaluate Election 2016

The Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP) has tasked all Constituency and Regional Executives to immediately initiate the process of evaluating the Party’s performance in Election 2016.

“We need constructive recommendations, scientific solutions, and technical examination of Election 2016”.

Professor Edmund N. Delle, CPP Chairman in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, called on all CPP officials, and sympathizers to rally behind the National Leaders to revamp the Party for the way forward.

“We must begin the process of building a viable, mass moment with committed vanguards to lead the process of restructuring the CPP. This is a moment for sober reflection and not time to play the blame game or panic reaction… we must stop the media war, cease personality attacks.

“CPP members who have something to contribute towards revamping the Party must use internal mechanism and structures to table their recommendations…we have poll of resourceful, committed, hardworking vanguards,” Prof Delle stated.

Prof Delle, explained that the National Executives will soon issue directives to the Regional and Constituency Executives to immediately start broad-based stock-taking engagement to pragmatically come out with issues which contributed to the success, defeat or poor performance of the Party.

He said the task of the Constituency Executives will be to evaluate the correlation between the Presidential and Parliamentary votes in Elections 2008; 2012 and 2016.

“We must also analyze the campaign messages across board, campaign methodology, role of Presidential and Parliamentary Candidates.

“Constituency Executives are also to examine the use of technology, media, foot-soldiers, public engagements, campaign material, and other campaign strategies”.

All Constituency Executives are to work in collaboration with polling station officers, CPP opinion leaders, parliamentary candidates where applicable and other stakeholders.

Prof Delle who is also the CPP Leader also tasked the Constituency Executives to forward outcomes to their respective Regional Chairmen for onward evaluation, and forward to National Officers in Accra.

He said after the Constituency and Regional Evaluation, the National Executives will form a Strategic CPP Evaluation Committee to undertake comprehensive examination of the issues and recommendations from the regions.

Prof. Delle said a report will then be tabled before the Steering Committee for the development of a roadmap for transforming, revamping and strengthening of the Party.
