More positive stories in 2017- ECG

ECGThe Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Volta Region, says it is positioned for more success stories for its consumers in 2017 as compared to the “turbulent” start of 2016.

Mr Joseph Mensah Forson, Regional Manager of the Company, addressing a media engagement said 2016 was undoubtedly a very difficult period for the ECC and its customers due to tariff hikes of 59 per cent.

He said in the midst of the challenges, the Company seized the opportunity to revamp and revitalise its networks and extended power supply to unserved communities.

Mr Forson said investments were sunk into providing electricity for more than 6,000 households across the Region in collaboration with the government under the Self Help Electrification Project and the Rural Electrification Project.

He said various constructions were ongoing in some districts of the Region to make the distribution system more robust and reliable.

He said GH₵ 875,000 had been spent on 26 completed development projects.
