Disappointed PNC presidential hopeful, Hassan Ayariga, has claimed that he would have ‘easily won’ the primaries if he had ‘only stuck to his previous strategy of coughing’ at his opponents instead of vote-buying.

Speaking to journalists after his loss, Mr Ayariga said his only regret is that he has lost another opportunity to harass NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, at next year’s presidential debates.

The new PNC flag-bearer, Dr Edward Mahama, who has contested in presidential elections even more times than Akufo-Addo, has said that ‘it feels good to be back in the game.’

Political observers believe that Dr Mahama, who has secured less than five per cent of votes in previous presidential elections, might pull a surprise in 2016.

‘In the past, John handed over to John who handed over to John who handed over to John. Now, it’s time for one Mahama to hand over to another Mahama.’
