I don’t look at the League Table – Duncan

Asante Kotoko coach, David Duncan says he does not check the position of the defending champions on the Premier League Table.

Kotoko are 11th on the table with 32 points and Duncan insists he looks away to keep his focus.

“I do not look at the league table; it might do something to my focus. I want to have focus on what I’m doing and not be thinking about (others).

“I do not draw the league table. If I’m getting my results, what happens elsewhere is none of my business.”

Kotoko returned to winning ways with an all-important 1-0 win over AshGold at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, but Duncan remains unimpressed about his side’s conversion rate.

“We are all elated for this victory. It did not come easy but of course, it is the kind of performance that has characterized our outings so far. Even when we have won, we throw away sitters, we throw away begging chances.

“For me even though momentarily I’m happy, I think we also will need to up taking the chances that we create. Last week, when we were at Sogakope, against WAFA, I expressed similar sentiment.

“My worry is about the chances that we are not taking. For me, today it was like a playback of what took place at WAFA. I’m happy though but worried we are not putting games to bed.”

Kotoko will be on the road for their next match against struggling rivals, Hearts of Oak on Sunday, in a game both teams desperately need all points to boast their survival chances.
