The Chief of Staff at the office of the president Prosper Bani has been removed and Julius Debrah appointed in his place.

A press release from the Office of the President announcing the change and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com, says the “President John Mahama has appointed the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Julius Debrah as his new Chief of Staff.”

Mr. Bani, however, the release said, “will be appointed an Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary.”

According to the release, the president made other changes. It said William K. Aboah the National Security Adviser, has been reassigned as an Adviser responsible for the restructuring of NACOB into a Commission.

“He will also assume the Chairmanship of the NACOB when the Board is constituted,” it added.

Baba Issifu Kamara, a Senior Adviser for Special Duties is the new National Security Adviser, while Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Johnny Osei Kofi, also moves to the Flagstaff House as a Deputy Chief of Staff, the release noted.

However, the statement announcing the changes, which the press release from the office of the president referred to, has not been made available to the media.
