Ghana government appoints PwC as transaction advisors in transfer of Ghana Gas to GNPC

pwcThe Ghana government has announced the appointment of multinational professional services network,PwC, as transaction advisor in the matter of transfer of the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

The appointment takes immediate effect.

In a press release signed by the Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper and issued in Accra December 4, 2014, it said “as announced by the Minister of Finance in the 2015 Budget Statement, the transfer of GNGC’s shares to GNPC is part of Government of Ghana’s (GoG) efforts to consolidate the upstream and midstream gas subsector under a single institution to ensure efficiency, increased value creation and sustainable national development outcomes.”

“In furtherance of this objective, GoG has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana Limited as Transaction Advisor to assist with the transfer of GoG’s interest in GNGC to GNPC and also to assist GNPC with the successful and effective integration of GNGC.
This appointment is with immediate effect,” the release added.
