Two health facilities in Western Region receive medical supplies

stethoscopeA United Kingdom based charitable organization- African Heritage and Educational Centre (AHEC) has presented medical equipment and assorted items to two health facilities in the Western Region.

The beneficiaries are Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the only referral health facility in the Region and Eikwe Government Hospital in the Ellembelle District.

The items comprised diathermy porches, colostomy bags, catheters, baby wipes, pampers, large towels, panties and slippers.

Making the presentation at Effia-Nkwanta Hospital on Friday, Executive Director of AHEC, Madam Christine Borsah, said the Organisation aims at supporting health facilities in the country to deliver quality health services to the citizenry.

She said the Organisation had also supported women and youth in deprived communities in the country to gain employable skills to make them financially self-independent.

Dr Henry Ata Wurah, Acting Medical Director of Effia-Nkwanta Hospital, expressed gratitude to the Organisation for the kind gesture.
