Cocoa farmer appeals for storage facilities

Cocoa-sacksCocoa farmers from the Mpohor District of the Western Region have appealed to the government to provide them with storage facilities.

The said at an advocacy workshop organised by BUSAC that lack of sheds at the Mpohor Wassa East area had left cocoa beans at the mercy of the weather resulting in huge losses of cocoa beans during the rainy season.

They said this affected the quality of the beans leading to their rejected at buying centres.

The farmers appealed to the district assembly and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to quickly come to the aid of farmers in that area.
