District hospital cries for more health personnel

Inadequate health professionals has been identified as a major obstacle to quality health care delivery at the Nkawie-Toase District Hospital.

Mr Alex Abugri, the Health Services Administrator of the facility, said the need to fix the shortage of critical staff, including prescribers, was more urgent and could not wait any longer.

They are also having problems with workers’ accommodation, poor security and unstable power supply.

Contributing to discussions at a mid-year performance review meeting, held by the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Health Directorate at Nkawie, Mr Abugri appealed to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the district assembly to act together to salvage the situation.

They should do everything to put things right to help the hospital to bring relief and care for the sick.

He welcomed as refreshing, the successful completion of work on a duty post quarters for the medical superintendent.
