Nine Eastern Regional MDCEs sworn into office

Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Eastern Regional Minister, has sworn into office nine Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs), who were recently confirmed by their respective assemblies.

They are Mr Simon Peter Asirifi, East Akyem Municipality, Mr Tom Budu, Akyemmansa District, Mr Joseph Angmor of Upper Manya Krobo District, Mr Samuel Fleischer, Suhum Municipality and Mr Ibrahim Issakar, Kwahu Afram Plains South District.

The rest include, Mr Emmanuel Atta Twum, Atiwa District, Mr Alex Somuah Obeng, Kwahu West Municipality, Mr Paul Aboagye Dadzie, Birim North District and Mr Andrews Sodah, Yilo Krobo District.

Ms Ntoso tasked the MDCEs, most of whom retained their office, to correct all the wrongs they did in their first term and ensure that they achieve their set targets.

She urged them to bridge all communication gaps that were created between them and their traditional authorities as well as assembly members to ensure smooth continuity of their duties.

Ms Ntoso entreated the MDCEs to work as a team with their technocrats to bring development to their people.

Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, Deputy Regional Minister, also tasked the nine MDCEs to stay focused on the development agenda of the government.

Mr Samuel A. Bawa, Regional Coordinating Director, urged the MDCEs to stay in touch with the management of their assemblies and endeavour to accept feedbacks to correct any mistakes on their part.

Other heads of Departments who were present also advised the MDCEs to make it a point to seek their views and expertise before embarking on any project related to their sectors.

Mr Asirifi, MCE for East Akyem, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in them.

He said they would work harder to advance the Better Ghana Agenda.
