Ashanti FA to cut down colts teams

footballThe Ashanti Regional Football Association (RFA), has made clear its intent to prune the number of premier colts clubs in the region.

Osei Tutu Agyemang, Chairman of RFA, said the goal is to promote efficient running of juvenile football.

The region currently boasts of 110 premier colts clubs, and the number will be reduced to 24.

He said juvenile football remained critical to unearthing talents for the nation, hence the need for its improved management.

“The situation where management of colts’ football in the region had over the years been mired in power struggle, greed and lack of the appropriate administrative structures had not been helpful.

He added that the RFA has enhanced its administrative set up with computers and internet connectivity at their secretariat.
