Britain creates 10,000 jobs on redevelopment of Olympics Park

The British government thought far ahead of the Olympics Games; and together with its citizens are reaping the benefits even long after it was over.

The Olympics Park is being redeveloped for the benefit of local communities, and it is currently a massive construction site, offering jobs to about 10,000 people, mostly local people. It is also a tourist site with tourists from all over the world visiting.

The Park has also been renamed the Queen Elizabeth Park in honour of the Queen.

Officials working on the Park say, some other projects like shops, business centres, housing and so on, when completed, would provide jobs for over 20,000 more people.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has brought together nine journalists from around the world on a tour as part of its marketing and publicity strategy to maximize the full benefits of the success of the Games that ended August 12, 2012.

The journalists are from Hungary, Vietnam, Morocco, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Cuba and Ghana on an “Olympic Legacy Media Visit” starting June 5 to 7, 2013.

The Olympic success is also giving jobs to Britain based businesses in Rio and Qatar, according to UK Trade and Investment officials.
