Prices of commodities stable at two major Accra markets

kaneshie_marketA survey conducted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the Kaneshie and Makola markets in Accra, revealed that, prices of GTP and commodities are stable.

Speaking to the GNA, Mrs Mavis Asante, a cloth dealer at Makola said GTP is been sold at GH¢ 65.00 for a half piece and GH¢ 45.00 for a half of piece of Nustyle.

She noted that, Vlisco cloth is which a Hollandaise product is selling at GH¢150.00 for half piece while High Target, sells at GH¢24.00 for half piece.

Chinese made clothes are also selling as low GH¢6 for a half piece.

Mrs Bernice Opare, a shop keeper at the Kaneshie market explained that, half a kilo of rice is still selling between GH¢19 and GH¢20.

She said prices of sugar, biscuits, gari and other items are also stable.

Mr Kwame Awuah, a dealer in second hand clothes at the Kaneshie market said even though there was an increment in fuel prices about some months ago, it has not affected the prices of his goods.

“We the traders here (Kaneshie market)  are aware of the increment of fuel prices… but people are not buying … these days,  so if you are a trader here and you increase the price of your commodities, then you rather causing harm to yourself, since no customer would like to buy from you,” he said.
