The Economist to host Ghana Investment Summit in Accra

BusinessesUK-based financial magazine, The Economist, will hold an investment summit in Accra October 2013.

Dubbed ‘Ghana Investment Summit 2013’, The Economist says the event will bring together over 150 leaders from government, business and finance who have invested or otherwise are interested in Ghana’s future.

The event is themed “Capturing Ghana’s business opportunity” and comes-off October 29 to 30, 2013 in the capital.

According to the firm, the Ghana Investment Summit will “openly explore the risks and opportunities—tensions and compromises—that are facing this thriving global African economy”.

Some speakers billed for the event are Ashish J. Thakkar, Founder of Mara Group and Mara Foundation; Fashion designer Ozwald Boateng; Matthieu Pigasse, Vice-Chairman, Lazard Europe; Fredrik Jejdling, President of Ericsson Africa and Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ms Hannah Tetteh.

Topics to be discussed among others are the rise of Africa and Ghana within the global economy and also how to empower Ghana for global competitiveness.
