Annan cleared to start Stars training

Midfielder Anthony Annan is expected to training with his teammates after shaking off a minor injury.

The 26-year old has been cleared to take part in the team’s first training session later on Thursday, at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) Stadium.

Stars coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed to GNA Sports that the midfielder will train for the first time in as many days.

“Annan (Anthony) will join us at training today (Thursday),” Appiah told GNA Sports.

The Osasuma midfielder has not trained with the Stars after the friendly with Egypt last week in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

His return will serve good news to Appiah, who was without some key player during the latter stages of their training program in the oil-rich nation.

Annan will be making his fourth successive appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations after 2008, 2010 and 2012.
