West Mamprusi DCE released after arrested for possessing verification machine

Security operatives have released Mr Adam Yusif, District Chief Executive (DCE) for  West Mamprusi, after his arrest for possessing a verification machine.

Briefing the media, DSP Simon Peter Aka, Officer-in-charge of Mamprusi Police Station, said the verification machine, which was in the possession of Mr Yusif, was given to him by some police officers to be delivered to the Tempulugu Polling Station in the Walewale Constiteuncy when the one used by the station had failed to work.

He said some polling agents who sensed foul play protested leading to the arrest of Mr Yusif for investigation.

He said a search conducted on him showed he only had in his possession the one verification machine meant for Tempulugu Polling Station and not three as speculated.

He said there was no cause for alarm and urged the people to vote peacefully.
