I will be disappointed if CPP gets less than 20 seats in parliament – Dr Sakara

Dr Abu Sakara – CPP Presidential candidate

Dr Abu Sakara, the Presidential candidate for the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has said “ if we have less than 20 seats in parliament, I will be disappointed.”

He said looking at the work the party has done during its campaign tours, explaining to Ghanaians why they should bring back the CPP to power, the efforts would yield to more votes for the party.

Dr Sakara said this at a press conference to update the media on the challenges and achievements during their campaign tour to the various constituencies in Accra on Monday.

He complained about the destruction of political party posters including his and other parliamentary candidates.

Dr Sakara alleged that in the South Danyi Constituency of the Volta Region, the store of the wife of their parliamentary candidates was burnt down adding that in spite of such attacks the party would do well and have an impact on the Ghanaian Political scene.

He said investing in industry was key and the CPP had demonstrated that under the leadership of Dr Kwame Nkrumah and he would replicate that when voted into power.

He appealed to Ghanaians to vote back the CPP to ensure progress and development of the country and assured women of their involvement in governance since the party believed in women empowerment for development.

Asked why the party had slowed down its campaign operations, the CPP Leader said, the party was faced with resource constrains to mount giant billboard compared to the NPP and the NDC.

He called on Ghanaians to vote for the CPP if only they want peace and progress and entreated other political parties who signed the Peace Accord to desist from violence in the coming elections.
