Ernst & Young honours four Ghanaian entrepreneurs

Four Ghanaian entrepreneurs have been honoured in the Emerging Category of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, West Africa 2012, held in Nigeria recently.

The awardees are Mr Frank Adu, Managing Director of CAL Bank, Ms Adelaide Ahwireng, Chief Executive Officer of FIO Enterprise, Mr William Ato Essien, Managing Director of First Capital Plus, and Mr Roland Agambire, Managing Director of Rlg Communications Ltd.

This was contained in a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency on Monday in Accra.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, also emerged as the winner in the Master Category of the Ernst &Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012, which automatically qualifies him to context in the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the year 2012 to be held in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Mitchell Elegbe, Chief Executive Officer of Interswitch Nigeria Limited, emerged winner in the Emerging Entrepreneur category.

Interswitch Limited is an integrated payment and transaction processing company that provides technology integration, advisory services, transaction processing and payment infrastructure to government, banks and corporate organizations.

Speaking at the event, Mr Ferdinand Gunn, Country Leader of Ernst & Young Ghana, expressed the hope that the initiative would spur on the finalists to perform even better in their various fields of entrepreneurship and be an encouragement to young entrepreneurs.

Globally, Ernst & Young has played a supportive role in recognizing and honouring entrepreneurs that have made a difference in their business domains and achieved success across a variety of industries and communities.
