Techiman Assembly receives GHȼ445,703 funds

The Techiman Municipal Assembly had received GHȼ445,703.13 from the District Development Fund (DDF) for 2010, Mr Alex Kyeremeh, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) made this known at the Assembly’s second ordinary meeting on Monday.

He said the amount was disbursed on sanitation, health, electrification, roads and sports projects.

Mr Kyeremeh explained that, GHȼ60,000.00 was spent on manufacturing of 10 refuse containers; GHȼ50,000.00 on evacuation of heaped refuse in the municipality, GHȼ60,000.00 was also expended on rehabilitation of a landfill site at Ayimana while GHȼ47,000.00 was spent on the construction of a Community-based Health and Planning Services compound facility at Aworopataa.

The MCE added that GHȼ29,000.00 was allocated for the rehabilitation of a 12-seater toilet at Techiman Magazine, 150 electricity poles were procured at the cost of GHȼ60,000.00 whilst GHȼ85,000.00 went into the completion of the Ameyaw Sports Complex.

Mr Obed Kwasi Agama, Chief Local Government Inspector of the Assembly, said basic rate of GHȼ0.10 was payable by persons of or above the age of 18 years who reside or owned immovable property or registered as voter within the jurisdiction of the municipality.

He warned that legal action would be taken against any defaulter after December 31.
