Mr Cephas Bansah, an entrepreneur, has called on people of African descent in the diaspora to re-channel their investment into the continent to cushion the socio-economic development that it yearns for.

He said their investments in health, education, agriculture, ICT, electrical engineering, automobile and mechanics, commerce that are insignificant in the disapora, has the propensity to jump-start the needed development on the continent.

Mr Bansah, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency during the Agbogboza (festival) of the Chiefs and people of Notsie in the Republic of Togo.

He led a five-member Television crew from PRO 7 and Galileo TV stations in Germany, to document the cultural diversity of the Agbogboza for the people of African descent in the diaspora and Ewe-speaking people globally.

Mr Bansah indicated his zeal to establish a technical Senior High School in Hohoe, which would have all aspects of total technical education including driving school, gold and blacksmithing at that level.

He said the project estimated to cost 200,000 euros, is to be done in phases with collaboration with some corporate entities, individuals and non-governmental organisations in Germany and that sod would be cut for works to commence in December,2012.

On the issue of Ewe language, Mr Bansah said “Ewe is spoken across international frontiers including Ghana, Togo, Benin, parts of Nigeria and Germany, which must be harnessed for posterity.”

He urged traditional authorities to use the language as a point of cultural contact, re-awakening, social integration and coexistence to foster development.

The Agbogboza, is a singular festival and platform that attracts people of Ewe-speaking in Africa and the diaspora to Notsie, their ancestral home, which dates back to the 12th century.

Mr Bansah has extended his philanthropy works into the construction of a school, procurement of hospital equipment as well as other humanitarian services and being a liaison between investors in Germany and the African continent.
