Dede Ayew back to Ghana squad against Malawi in Afcon qualifier

Ghana Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah has handed a debut call-up to Italy-based midfielder Isaac Coffie for next month’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi in Accra.

The Chievo Verona midfielder has been included in the 24-member squad for the squad that will play Malawi on Saturday, September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium and follow with a match against Liberia three-days later in an international friendly.

According to a release from the Ghana Football Association (GFA),copied to GNA Sports, Berekum Chelsea midfielder Solomon Asante, who was left out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier last June against Lesotho, returns after fears over his nationality were allayed.

Appiah also named five home-based players including the Berekum Chelsea duo of Ernest Sowah and Emmanuel Clottey, whilst the likes of Andre Ayew and Emmanuel Agyemang- Badu, who missed this month’s friendly against China, return to the squad.
