Ghana records 8.7% economic growth first quarter 2012

Ghana has recorded an economic growth of 8.7% year-on-year during the first quarter of 2012, the Reuters News Agency has reported citing official figures released by the government’s Statistical Service June 27, 2012.

The country’s economy grew by 14.4 % in 2011 mainly accelerated by the oil find.

Meanwhile, producer prices in Ghana rose 18.01% year-on year in May 2012 as against 15.8% it recorded in April, the Statistical Service said.
