Bukom Banku

Ghana’s Braimah Kamoko a.k.a “Bukom Banku” of Ghana handed his Ugandan opponent Hamza Wandera, a round three knockout to retain his World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Lightweight title at the Accra Sports Stadium in the early hours of Sunday.

In a bout dubbed, the “Moment of truth”, which was  under them direction of Golden Mike Boxing Promotions and Golden Concept Syndicate, Kamoko had to suffer a first round knock down from the left hook of the Ugandan, but managed to survive the count by referee Roger Barnor.

Kamoko later dominated the fight and attacked his opponent with some hefty punches which dazed Wandera but the Uganda fighter did not give up as he occasionally landed some good shots on the face of the Ghanaian.

The exchanges continued till round three when Wandera suddenly refused to fight as he turned his back to his opponent and embraced the corner, apparently in protest against what he termed biased officiating, but Kamoko continued to attack and to deliver a right hook on his opponent.

Referee Barnor had to step in and later ordered for the two to continue with the fight. Wandera again turned his back to Kamoko and received further punishments without any form of defence to amazement of the boxing fans.

Referee Barnor was thus compelled to step in again and seconds later called the fight for Kamoko amidst protests from the camp of Wandera.
