Ghana Premier League: Kotoko extends lead

Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday extended their lead on the Ghana Premier league table when they chalked a 2-0 win over visiting Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi in their 17th week League  game.

Daniel Nii Adjei scored the opener in the 60th minute after receiving a cross from Micheal Mensah for the latter to add up to the icing in the 88th minute when he capitalised on a goal-mouth melee to give Kotoko a comfortable home win to maintain their position on the League log.

Liberty made last minutes efforts to at least get a consolation goal but their efforts were thwarted by the solid Kotoko defence until the final whistle to send the teeming supporter s of the Porcupine Warriors into wild jubilation through the principal streets of the Garden City of  Kumasi.
