The Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) has organised a one-day Executive Media Workshop for its Managing Directors (MDs) in Central Africa and the West African Economic and Monetary Union or UEMOA zone.

The MDs came from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Senegal, Gabon, Togo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The workshop, which was aimed at training the bank heads to understand the media and journalists and learn skills on how to answer questions from journalists took place in Lome, Togo February 24, 2012. It was conducted by Media Consultant John Chiahemen, who was once Africa Bureau Chief for Reuters.

The bank managers were also led through an interaction to help them understand what journalists expect of them.

Other resource persons who  interacted with the bank executives were Peter Dogbe, the Togo Correspondent of Radio France International (RFI),  and Emmanuel K. Dogbevi the Managing Online Editor of ghanabusinessnews.com.

After the session, Mr Dogbevi said they had “very frank” discussions on how the media operates.

The next workshop will be held in Accra, Ghana February 28, 2012 for MDs from Nigeria and other parts of English speaking Africa where Ecobank has operations.
