Policeman dies through motor accident, two others in coma

A policeman identified only as Detective Sergeant Gamia with the Central Regional C.I.D in Cape Coast, on Sunday lost his life when the car in which he was traveling with two other colleagues crashed into a wall at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.

Chief Inspector Samuel Obeng Addo, Deputy Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), told the GNA on Monday that Sergeant Gamia, together with the two other policemen whose identities were yet to be determined were driving a BMW saloon car with registration number GW 5335 W.

He said they were driving from the west gate of the University of Cape Coast towards the Ola-Bakaano road and on reaching the metropolitan hospital, Sergeant Gamia who was driving lost control of the steering wheel and hit the wall.

Chief Inspector Addo said the other two officers, yet to be identified were in coma at the  hospital and that investigations were still ongoing to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Also, three persons died on the spot when the vehicle in which they were traveling was involved in an accident on Saturday at Anomabo.
