Black Stars goalkeeper, Adam Kwarasey has deferred any talk on a possible switch from Norway till after the African Cup of Nations.

Kwarasey, was named Ghana’s number one as the Black Stars begin preparations for the continental gathering set to begin in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea later this month and the Norway-based goalkeeper insists his focus rest on the competition.

The tourney that pieces Africa’s best 16 together would be Kwarasey’s first and the goalkeeper says ‘surely I will like to play in the big leagues like the speculations claim but now my focus is on the Nations Cup. All talks about a possible move should be deferred till the tournament is over.’

The goalkeeper is among the 25 players named to begin preparations for the three-week tourney, which pits Ghana in Group D with Botswana, Guinea and Mali at the first phase.

Highlighting what he brings to the team tipped alongside the Elephants of Ivory Coast as tournament favorites, he said ‘commitment is all I bring on board.

‘I am not so experienced at the international level but what I have is my commitment to give my all for this team.’

Expanding further on commitment, Kwarasey said with the recent talk about diluted commitment by players with half Ghanaian parentage due to Kevin Prince Boateng’s decision to quit the Black Stars ‘only time will tell my level of commitment to Ghana.

‘I grew up with my father and my siblings so I have a very strong bond with Ghana and there is no question about my level of commitment to the country.’

On Ghana’s chances for the biannual gathering, the player said ‘this will be my first time at the Nations Cup. Just being part of the team is good enough. Winning it will be incredible.’

The 24 year old Strømsgodset goalkeeper took over from Richard Kingston as number one after a successful nationality switch that coincided with Coach Goran Stevanovic decision to axe club-less players from the Black Stars.
