Ho Municipal Assembly collects 71.1% of estimated revenue

The Ho Municipal Assembly was able to collect GH¢584,650.93 (71.15 per cent) of its estimated revenue of GH¢821,730.00 for 2011.

The Assembly plans to step up public education and deploy revenue taskforces to “step up mobilisation to run-off the year”.

Mr Isaac Kodobisah, Municipal Chief Executive announced this at the last ordinary session of the Assembly.

Mr Kodobisah urged the Finance and Administration sub-committee and other committees to continue to identify untapped revenue sources locally.

This is because statutory deductions from the District Assembly Common Fund in the year have left it with very little for development.

Mr Kodobisah hinted that the allocation of development projects in future would be determined by how much revenue the Assembly would receive from each Zonal and Area Council.

He said 100 projects were successfully executed in 2011 with 47 others on-going.

Mr Kodobisah said 82 motor bikes are ready for distribution to members of the Assembly.

The Assembly would foot GH¢700.00 on each of the bikes while each Assemblyman would pay the remaining GH¢1,000 either outright or in two years at GH¢50.00 every month.

Mr Kodobisah said hopefully the Assembly would settle the outstanding ex-gratia to the immediate past Assemblymen by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
