Ghana to host Biomass Congress 2011 to explore multi-billion dollar market

The 2011 Biomass Congress for West and Central Africa will be take place in Ghana from November 24 to 25, 2011, organisers have announced.

The congress is to boost the opportunities available in the two regions where Africa’s vast wood biomass resources make it an ideal supplier for green market-trading, especially to major US and European markets.

The congress also gives an ideal platform for global biomass buyers and suppliers with networking opportunities in the ECOWAS multi-billion dollar biomass markets.

“The congress will explore the strategic drivers of global biomass markets, investment assessment on ECOWAS Biomass opportunities, rural electrification, sustainable forestry, cogent technologies, regulatory & tariff developments, certification, shipping and logistics as well as many other complex and rapidly changing factors that impact wood biomass pricing and trade,” said Magenta Global Pte Ltd, organisers of the congress in a press statement copied to ghanabusinessnews.com.

The World Bank, KfW, AfriRen ECREE, Partners for Innovation, Abellon, NEPAD, Conpernicus Institute, African Biofuel and Renewable Energy Company, Institut supérieur des techniques of DRCongo , Forêts et de l’Environnement Burkina Faso , Vivus Renewables, Bionic Palm Limited will attend the congress.

Biomass is carbon, hydrogen and oxygen based energy derived from five distinct energy sources: garbage, wood, waste, landfill gases, and alcohol fuels.

    I would like to inquire about the Biomass west & central Africa congress 2011 registration fees. Does the fees include accomodation and meals for participants? and is there any chance of sponsorship available to delegates from East Africa Uganda?
