New company to assemble motorbikes inaugurated

A multi-purpose manufacturing company to produce zinc for the three northern regions, assemble motorbikes and sale furniture has been inaugurated in Tamale on Monday.

Dolan Ayana Company Limited is aimed at attracting talents and creating jobs for the youth to reduce violence and also offer the motorbikes to teachers and nurses on high-purchase basis.

Speaking at the inauguration Alhaji Ayana Yakubu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, said he was motivated by the unavailability of industries in the area to set up the company.

He said the company would not only serve the regions but also Burkina Faso and Togo adding that raw materials for the zinc company would be imported from China, India and Brazil.

He said the company’s manufacturing plant has the capacity to meet the demands of its customers with quality finished products.

Alhaji Ayana said 2,000 motorbikes had already been assembled for distribution to teachers and nurses on high purchase with the intention of encouraging them to accept postings to the rural communities where their services are most needed.

He appealed to the media, the youth and politicians to exercise decorum in their daily activities to ensure that the nation maintains peace as Election 2012 draws near.

Mr. Moses Bukari Mabengba, the Northern Regional Minister, said the government would support the company to create more jobs.
