Sunderland gives number 3 jersey to Asamoah Gyan
Asamoah Gyan has taken the number 3 jersey as Sunderland FC confirms their squad numbers for the 2011-2012 new seasons.
“Asamoah Gyan is Sunderland’s new number 3,” official statement on the club’s website said August 8, 2011.
According to the statement, the move was confirmed after the club released the full list of official squad numbers this afternoon.
The majority of the squad numbers have already been confirmed, with Gyan’s move heading the remainder, the club says. Asamoah Gyan in his first season last summer wore the number 33 jersey.
