Municipal Assembly supports the disabled

The Asante-Mampong branch of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, has received GH¢23,000.00 from the municipal assembly to help improve the livelihood of members.

This is in compliance with the mandatory two percent Common Fund allocation, provided for under the Fund’s disbursement guidelines.

Mr Daniel Appau Ohyeamang, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Asante-Mampong that, the Municipal Disability Committee would ensure that the money was properly disbursed.

He said everything would be done to ensure that there was transparency and that none of the about 120 members of the society was disadvantaged.

The society, last year, got GH¢8,700.00 from the assembly’s share of the Common Fund.

Mr Ohyeamang underlined the need for all the assemblies to fulfil their obligation to the physically challenged.
