NADMO Coordinator to contest New Juaben South Parliamentary seat

Mr Ransford Owusu-Boakye, the Eastern Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), on Friday declared his intention to contest the New Juaben South Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Owusu-Boakye, 46, who was the NDC parliamentary candidate for the 2008 elections, was optimistic that he would capture the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if given the chance to contest the seat.

Speaking in an interview with the GNA at Koforidua, he reminded the constituency delegates that he was the only candidate who contested when they were in opposition.

Mr Owusu-Boakye said from the percentage he obtained in the last elections, if he was given the nod, he would definitely win the seat for the NDC in the 2012 elections.

“We will not only increase our Parliamentary votes in the next elections, but would win the seat if the delegates vote for me at the primary”.

Mr Owusu-Boakye called for unity among members of the party, saying that, if they unite they would easily take the seat from the NPP.

Mr Owusu-Boakye urged party members to come together and start campaigning for President John Evans Atta Mills to retain power in the 2012 elections.
