GIFEC gives GH¢60,000 to build trading booths for physically challenged persons to sell telecoms accessories

The Government of Ghana through the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) has giving an amount of GH¢60,000 to the National Council on Persons with Disability as a support to the Disability Employment Project.

The money is intended for the production of ten pilot trading booths for persons with disability in the regions “to enable them sell telecommunications accessories such as phone recharge cards, USB data modems, SIM Cards and to carry out SIM registration”, GIFEC said in a press release copied to ghanabusinessnews.com on June 28, 2011.

According to GIFEC, the deployment and installation of the booths will begin this month July, 2011 in the regions.

The project, GIFEC says is a collaboration between the Council and the Ministry of Communications.
