MTN Ghana official appointed CEO, MTN Liberia

Mr. Mazen Mroue of MTN Ghana has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Liberia.

Until his recent position, Mr Mroue was the Chief Information Officer at MTN Ghana.

“The Chief Information Officer (CIO) of MTN Ghana Mr. Mazen Mroue has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Liberia after 13 years of dedicated service at MTN Ghana”, the company said in a statement copied to ghanabusinessnews.com on April 14, 2011.

His appointment took effect from March 13 this year, the statement added.

Mr Mroue joined the Ghana operation (Scancom Ltd) in 1999 as a Business Support Manager and was later promoted to the position of Information Technology Manager in 2000. In 2006, he was appointed the Chief Information Officer when MTN acquired Investcom.

At MTN Ghana, Mr Mroue initiated Mobile Banking, Seamless Roaming and Dynamic Charging & Discounting.

Mroue holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Intellectual Systems & Networks and completed the Executive Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School in 2007.
