Four drivers fined GH¢1,860

Four heavy truck drivers have been fined a total of 1,860 Ghana cedis by a Tarkwa Circuit Court for parking on the main Tarkwa/Takoradi highway or in default a prison term ranging between 10 and 24 months.

They pleaded guilty.

They are Zakari Jibril, 52, Siedu Quadrago, 53, Abdulai Issaka, 58 and Alhaji Hamidu, 54.

They parked at unapproved sides of the road, obstructed traffic flow and other road users.

Prosecuting Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court that on January 31 personnel of the Motor Transport Traffic Unit of the Ghana Police in a special operation arrested them.
