Sports Ministry congratulates GFA, CAF award winners

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has congratulated the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and other Ghanaian award winners at the recently CAF Awards in Cairo, Egypt.

Ghana dominated the ceremony held last Monday in the Egyptian capital with midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah scooping the Most Promising Talent of the Year, Black Stars won the Team of the Year award with GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi also receiving a Presidential award whilst ex-Black Stars trainer Milovan Rajevac was Coach of the Year aside Asamoah Gyan emerging runner-up in the flagship, Footballer of the Year ward.

Ms Akua Sena Dansua, Minister of Youth and Sports in a statement issued by Samuel Akwasi Sarpong, Head of Public Relations of the Ministry copied to GNA Sports on Friday, urged the GFA and the players to work harder in the coming year to win more laurels for themselves and Ghana.

She also wished the Management, technical team and the players well in their endeavours and also wished them the best during the yuletide.

The Minister, however, regretted the sudden departure of Rajevac, saying “It is unfortunate Coach Milovan Rajevac walked out on Ghana at the peak of his achievement having led the Black Stars to the quarterfinals of the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa and also as representatives of Africa.”
