South Africa’s foreign reserves at over $39b

South Africa’s net gold and foreign exchange reserves stood at $39.178 billion at the end of August from $38.665 billion in July, official data showed on Tuesday.

Gross reserves dipped to $43.133 billion in August from $43.159 billion, the central bank said in a statement posted on its website.

Foreign currency reserves went down $259 million to $35.464 billion while gold reserves increased by $255 million to $4.97 billion.
