Ghana stocks fall again

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, dropped 84.05 points from 6,821.80 points on Tuesday to 6,737.75 points Wednesday.

The Change Year to Date now stands at 20.91 from 22.42 recorded at the previous trading session.

Traded volume closed the session at 481,912 shares valued at GH¢175,484.82. Seventeen equities sold shares with Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) leading the pack with 254,400 shares valued at GH¢37,411.00. ETI was followed by SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC), which sold 88,500 shares valued at GH¢32,745.00.

On the broader market, there were nine price changes, six negatives and three positives. Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) lost GH¢0.25 to close at GH¢2.95; Enterprise Insurance Company Limited (EIC) lost GH¢0.02 to close at GH¢1.68 while Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), SIC and SG-SSB Limited (SG-SSB) and UT Bank Limited (UTB) lost GH¢0.01 each to close at GH¢0.27; GH¢0.37; GH¢0.69 and GH¢0.26 in that order.

Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) went up by GH¢0.03 to close at GH¢0.79 while Accra Brewery Company Limited (ABL) and Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited (SCB) gained GH¢0.01 each to close at GH¢0.09 and GH¢43.12 respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed the session at GH¢18,590.93 million from GH¢18,655.66 million issued shares.
