A five-member Audit Report Implementation Committee, set up by the Nkoranza South District Assembly to ensure that government’s policies and programmes are efficiently and effectively carried out in the district, has been inaugurated at Nkoranza.

The committee members are Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, District Chief Executive, Mr Isaac Asirifi-Kudom, Presiding Member, who is the chairman, Madam Fati Saaka, Acting District Coordinating Director, Nana Okofo Agyapong III, Chairman of the Finance and Administration sub-committee of the assembly and Mr George Effah Asamoah, representative of Internal Audit Agency (IAA).

Mr Asirifi-Kudom commended members for accepting the responsibility to serve the committee, which he said would serve as a risk management tool in the day to day running of the assembly and also a requirement for accessing the District Development Facility.

He said operations of the committee would help ensure that the government got value for money, as members would also check against misappropriation of state funds.

“It is the responsibility of the committee members to control, manage, as well as accept or transfer risks either to insurance companies or other corporate entities”, he added.

Mr Asamoah advised management of the district assembly to cooperate with the committee to advance the development agenda of the government at the local level.

Mr Agyekum applauded the effort of the assembly to establish the committee and pledged his total support and commitment.

The DCE charged members of the committee to be committed in order to maintain the trust of the people.

He gave the assurance that the assembly would provide the necessary financial and other supports, to make the committee work effectively.
