Kasapreko warns counterfeiters of its products

The Board Chairman of Kasapreko Company Limited (KCL), Dr. Percival Albert Kuranchie, has sent a strong warning against the recent faking of the company’s products, which he described as very alarming and said people who indulge in such acts would soon be flushed out from their hideouts.

He said that anybody caught in such an act, would be severely dealt with according to the laws of the country because it is a criminal act.

Dr. Kuranchie, who is also the Managing Director of the National Investment Bank, gave the warning at the second dinner and awards night for KCL distributors in Accra on Friday.

Recently, a 27-year old Yaw Badu from Offinso Ahenkro in the Ashanti region was arrested and prosecuted for allegedly dealing in fake Kasapreko products. Two other accomplices are on the run and the Commercial Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service is looking for them.

Dr. Kuranchie, therefore, called on the distributors to serve as the eyes and ears of the company and assist KCL to ensure that the miscreants, who are poised to tarnish the hard won image of the company, are flushed out of the system.

He, however, commended the distributors for their role in the company, and urged them to work harder to ensure that KCL becomes the number one company in the Ghana Club 100, saying that to whom much is given, much is expected.

Philip Asante Annor of Grande Agencies Limited in Accra was adjudged the overall winner for the year. For his prize, he took home a 60-inch Plasma Television, a home theatre, plaque and a certificate of recognition.

The second prize went to Cecilia Ampong of Ampocec Enterprise, who received a living room furniture and a certificate of recognition, whilst Salomey Noi of Feehi Enterprise, who placed third, had as her prize a dinning table and a certificate of recognition.

Ten other customers were each given a four-burner gas cooker and certificates of recognition. Certificates of recognition were given to 86 other distributors who had come from all over the country for the event, which was preceded by a day’s session, where management engaged in serious business discussions with the clients about how both parties can improve upon and enhance their businesses.

The Managing Director of the Company, Martyn Mensah said the distributors play a very key part to the success of the company, saying that without them, KCL can not claim any success.

All the successes that Kasapreko has chalked and awards we have received over the past 10 or more years is entirely dedicated to you because you have made it possible for these feats to come by,” he stressed.

Mr. Mensah said over the past 10 year, KCL has evolved and grown from a very small local industry into a company that today stands at the peak of achievement, saying “in the last GIPC awards, we chalked the achievement of attaining the fourth position in the Ghana Club 100. That in itself is very significant, but what is more significant for us is that as far as indigenous company is concerned, we are the number one indigenous company, we are also the number one manufacturing company in Ghana.

“These are significant achievements mainly because for the longest time we have not had much to celebrate as far as Ghanaian achievement is concerned. And the message we are sending out clearly is that, it can be done, yes, Ghanaians have the talent, the capacity, the capability to do what Kwabena Adjei has done.”

Mr. Mensah said these have been the hallmark of their efforts to establish a truly alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage manufacturing company, and that, they continuously strive to surprise and delight their customers with products that reflect their intimate understanding of their (customers) needs, aspirations and lifestyles.

Mr. Mensah maintained that whilst KCL is the number one indigenous company in Ghana, their eyes are set on the ultimate to be the number company in Ghana, whether local or foreign, as well as having their eyes on the African pride, saying, “We have begun moves to expand our coverage and to introduce our fantastic products to various countries across the continent. Indeed, we have gone beyond Africa, and our products are known internationally as well. We want to assure you that we will continue to bring dignity and glory to the name that you allowed us to use. Yes, indeed, the name itself has great inspiration and we will continue to push it to the ultimate.”

For his part, the Founder and Group Chairman of KCL, Dr. Kwabena Adjei thanked the Management and staff of KCL and Pinnacles Holding Limited, owners of Kasapreko for working tirelessly to bring the company through thick and tin over the past 20 years of its existence, and for that matter, mooting the idea of honouring distributors of the company.

Whilst congratulating this year’s awardees, he called on those who did not win anything not to relent in their oars but work harder to ensure that come subsequent years, they would also be recognized.
