Food vendor convicted for trading without medical certificate

A boiled rice seller at Assin Akropong, Akua Asiedua, was on Tuesday fined GH¢24.00 for selling cooked food to the public without obtaining medical certificate for fitness.

Asiedua will in default go to prison for two months.

Mr Charles Quainoo, Senior Environmental Officer, told the court that on June 23 last year, environmental officers on routine inspection demanded the health certificate of the convict who was then selling cooked rice and stew at Akropong but she could not produce one and she was arrested.
